Abstract
Although much progress has been made in the morphometric analysis of stream dissected terrain, little work has been directed toward the special problems presented by karst topography. Over 89% of the depressions studied were found to have their long axes aligned with structural trends, and 56% of the variation of this parameter is accounted for by the independent variables. Eighty-eight percent of the spatial variation in depression elongation ratios is accounted for by the lilthologic, karst drainage system, and structurally alignment variables. In addition 95% of the spatial variation of depression relief, 94% of the variation of local relief ratios, 76% of the variation of solution texture, 70% of the variation of depression areas, 74% of the variation of depression flank slopes, and 85% of the variation of depression densities are accounted for by various combinations of the lithologic drainage system, relative location, and structural adjustment parameters.
