Abstract

Developing of object-oriented model of an information system for design, construction and exploitation of tunnels is given in this article. This model was developed for increasing of productivity of engineers and using of experience obtained from other tunnels. The survey of existing information systems that are used in tunnel construction and general theoretical thesis of object-oriented programming is given in the beginning. The appropriate methodology was used in model developing. Problem definition and global analysis were done and the main subsystems were determined. Object-oriented model was determined for each subsystem. Data flow diagram was created and objects were identified. After that attributes, visibility and interfaces of objects were established. At the end, life cycle for each object was shown. The model uses active database with ECA (event-condition-action) rules. The system was implemented in C++ and tested on the real problem.
