Abstract
Continuing increases in energy costs are forcing us to look beyond historical areas of energy savings, such as heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and lighting systems and controls. Thorough energy analysis of production equipment, ironically often the major contributor to industrial space heating and cooling loads, shows great potential for savings. Variable-volume pump systems are one way to increase efficiency. 2 figures.
