Abstract
Traffic management systems are using traffic data from various data collection sources for different purposes such as traffic control decisions. In order to ensure data reliability and plausibility abnormal/faulty data needs to be identified. Therefore the QUATRA system is established that provides services for the quality management of traffic data. Two comprehensive quality management tools are developed based on the evaluation of indicators and statistical estimations. The system can be used for analysis of different parameters such as speeds and traffic volumes. One tool is developed for the online use on freeways e.g. for dynamic speed control. A second tool is for offline traffic data evaluation for urban road areas. In order to provide a superb quality management system a comprehensive software system is developed which handles the core functions for traffic data quality checks.
