Abstract

In the present paper, the construction of an underpass in the settlement Hoce on the railway Zidani most - Maribor in Slovenia is described. A main railway consisting of four electrified tracks runs across the underpass. The railway is in a straight line on a levelled ground, A new road consisting of two traffic lanes 3.5 m each, a cycle track and a walkway passes through the considered reinforced concrete underpass. The total underpass width amounts to 13.65 m while its length is 30.63 m. The clear height of the underpass amounts to 5.58 m. The underpass is a frame reinforced concrete structure executed outside of the point of crossing and then pushed below the railway tracks. Prior to pushing of the structure, preparatory works had been carried out related to securing the railway tracks and to preparing the plateau serving for the underpass construction. Moreover, abutments for hydraulic presses were constructed as well serving for transmittal of pushing forces into the surrounding ground.
