Abstract

The author reviews Enemy, Cripple & Beggar: Shadows in the Hero's Path by Erel Shalit. Dr. Shalit s book is an in-depth examination of the hero and shadow archetypes using stories, myths, and patients' dreams. In the review, the author explores how an interpretation of a myth or dream (or book) arises from the interaction between the archetypal meanings of the symbols interpreted and the interpreters intersubjective experience of the transference/countertransference.
