Carbon storage and organic matter dynamics in grassland soils.

This chapter provides an overview about possible soil organic carbon stabilization and destabilization mechanisms under contrasting grassland management (grazing versus mowing). The specific processes operating in grassland soils are compared with those under other land uses. Moreover, the different sources of carbon input and their potential to be sequestered in soil are explored.
