Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine some annual forage crop intercroppings’ green and dry herb productivity which are suitable for Tekirdağ conditions. White lupin (Lupinus albus L.), Hungarian vetch (Vicia pannonica Crantz.), Narbon bean (Vicia narbonensis L.), common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), which are annual forage crops, are used as materials. The experiment, repeated three times during 2005-2007, was carried out onthe land used for research and experimentation which belongs to the Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Namık Kemal University, according to trial patterns of TesadüfBlokları. The plants used in the experiment are seeded as two and three combinations and as bare. The intercroppings’ green and dry herb productivity is determined. Legumes are harvested at four different times according to their harvest season, considering the legumes in green herb harvests. The best green herb yields are gained from the intercropping of white lupin + narbon bean + Hungarian vetch and from their harvesting when the Hungarian vetch blooms its first bean. This is followed by the harvesting of white lupin + narbon bean + barley when narbon bean blooms its first bean and by the harvesting of white lupin + common vetch + barley when common vetch blooms its first bean
