Abstract
The numerical model is worked out for the calculation of the radio wave propagation path and the absorption of short radio waves in the ionosphere. The altitude profiles of the electron density according to the IRI model of ionosphere were corrected taking into account the effects of the auroral electron precipitations. The numeric calculations of the radio wave propagation paths in the auroral ionosphere and the absorption of radio waves along those paths were made. The results of calculations were compared with the data for Saint Petersburg Murmansk radio wave propagation path.
