Abstract
The following topics are considered: the magnitude of the exposure to total-body irradiation (TBI); physical considerations in TBI; the importance of TBI in preparing the leukemic patient for engraftment; the significance of previous central nervous system irradiation; the possible role of irradiation in the etiology of interstitial pneumonia; and the late effects of irradiation.
