AN ANALYSIS OF PSYCHOPATH CONDITION CAUSED BY HYPOPITUITARISM AS REFLECTED IN JAUME COLLET-SERRA’S ORPHAN: A PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH

The research attempts to analyze psychopath condition caused by sexually abuse in the Orphan’s film. The thesis entitled “An Analysis of Psychopath Condition as Self Defense Mechanism Caused by Sexually Abuse as Reflected in Jaume Collet-Serrs’s Orphan : A Psychological Approach.” has three research questions. They are (1) What are the characters of the main character’s Esther? (2) What are the Id, Ego, and Super Ego in Esther’s personality? (3) What are the Esther’s self defence mechanisms as psychopath? This research used qualitative method. The script of Orphan was downloaded from http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/orphan.html. Then it was retyped in Microsoft Office Word 2003 for ease fragmenting during the process analysis. The collected data was analyzed on the basis of Calvin. S. Hall (1954)’s A Freudian Primer of Freudian Psychology on Human Personality to find out the Development of Personality and Self Defence Mechanism reflected in Jaume Collet Serra’s Orphan.
