Abstract

A brief review is given of the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of zirconium, Zircaloy-2, and zirconium--niobium alloy. The reaction of the metals and alloys with atmospheric gases and hydrogen is described. The conditions for heat and cold working are discussed. Heat treatment of the metal and alloys is also considered. 11 references. (J.S.R.)
