Abstract

This article examines the question of the nature of the reordering of planned and partly implemented by the Nazi regime of Germany during the Second World War, in the light of recent literature on the subject, in particular the books by Mark Mazower  (Hitler's Empire) and Richard). Evans (The Third Reich at War)1 In doing so, it will consider the political, economic and racial I ethnic dimensions of Nazi policy in German-occupied Europe, and will conclude by reflecting briefly on the legacy of the Nazi New Order for Europe after 1945.
