Abstract
All pavements deteriorate over time due to traffic loading and climatic factors. In this study, some base courses with several degrees of bearing capacity were constructed and concrete slabs with different thicknesses were constructed on these base courses. These test pavements with various degrees of bearing capacity were constructed for plate loading test. The plate loading test using static load was conducted on the surface of the base course and concrete slab. The deflection and strain of the concrete slab and base course were measured. From comparison of the measured bearing capacity (K value) of base course before the construction of concrete slab with K value calculated from the measured deflection of the surface by the plate loading test, an evaluation method of bearing capacity of the base course was considered. Based on the measured results of deflection and strain of concrete slab, the relationship between the deflection, strain and stress of concrete slab were experimentally investigated.
