Abstract
Sixty patients who had biopsy proved peripheral bronchogenic carcinoma had undergone broncho alveolar lavage fluid cytology investigation. Thirty-nine patients (65%) had malignancy picked up in this way. BAL fluid cytology could help In the diagnosis of peripheral lung carcinoma.
