Abstract
The effectiveness of treatment of panic disorder with alprazolam in two groups of patients with typical and atypical panic attacks has been studied. After the therapy most of the investigated parameters had a signifi cant positive trend in patients with typical panic attacks (with high anxiety). There were less signifi cant changes in patients with atypical panic attacks (low anxiety) after treatment with alprazolam. These patients require another pharmacological medication.
