Abstract
Abstract- Community Communicating Place Through Public Art John Mongard landscape architect refers to the ritual and experiences in place as the poetry of place, he says that it rings in our memory and if it's strong, you can visit that place in your mind many years afterward. Place is reinforced by the locals, they are the support system, the foundations stones that create over time personal relationships and experiences with the built and natural environment, a culture of place which ultimately becomes the attraction to place. Mongard states that public spaces, which become great experiences start with inspirational ideas. This paper through a collection of case studies, argues that there is a need for creative thinkers who are commissioned to produce public art and objects for places, to engage locals in discussions that will ultimately result in outcomes, which connect to and reinforce the sense of place.
